The conference "The state and prospects of development of the international State Scientific and Technical Institute"

From June 19 to June 20, 2023 at the Republican Scientific and Technical Library (Minsk, Republic of Belarus) The International Scientific and practical Conference "The state and development of the international state network of scientific and technical information" was held

The conference was initiated by the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia (GPSTB of Russia) with the support of the Republican Scientific and Technical Library of Belarus (RNTB).

The conference was welcomed by Sergey Vladimirovich Shlychkov, Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, in which he said that "Scientific and technical information authorities (STI), including libraries, play a crucial role as holders of information resources, their kind of aggregators and distributors. The important issue remains the integration of information resources, the interstate exchange of STI, and therefore the more efficient use of the available intellectual wealth that we have"

In his greeting, the Director of the Republican Scientific and Technical Library (RNTB) Raisa Nikandrovna Sukhorukova noted: "The topic of the conference is especially relevant in the current conditions, because the creation of an interstate STI system and the mutual use of information resources will significantly improve the information capabilities of each of its participants."

Ekaterina Alexandrovna Chaban, Acting Director of the Department of State Scientific and Scientific-Technical Policy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, welcomed the Russian Federation. She noted the special relevance and importance of this conference, as the exchange of STI makes a great contribution to the formation and development of a unified scientific and technological space between Russia and the CIS countries, and also, to the scientific director of the State Scientific and Technical University of Russia, the President of NABB, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yakov Leonidovich Schreiberg, who addressed the participants with the words:"I thank our co–organizer, the Republican Scientific and Technical Library, for the opportunity to host the conference in Belarus. I am very glad that people gathered here who determine the vectors of development of the interstate system of scientific and technical information in Russia and Belarus. The cooperation of our countries in this area has great potential"

Yakov Leonidovich also read out greetings to the conference participants from the Rector of the Moscow State Institute of Culture (MGIK) Ekaterina Leonidovna Kudrina.

On June 19, the conference hosted a plenary session and a session on "National scientific and technical information systems and the information market in modern socio-political conditions."

On June 20, the conference continued with the thematic session "Scientific and technical information and scientific and technical libraries in the modern socio-economic and technological environment" and specialized round tables.

Summing up, Yakov Leonidovich Shraiberg, Co-Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, noted: "The two days of work have shown us all the need to further discuss the problems and prospects of the development of the State Scientific and Technical Institute. I am pleased to inform you that the Organizing Committee of the conference has decided to hold this conference annually at the end of June in Minsk. Thank you all for your efficient work and see you in 2024!"
